Hypercommunication

Quirky French quintet Poni Hoax is an unsurprising crush for me. Although quirky is usually good. Quirky and French is a combination usually predestined for a slight internal giggle, perhaps a smile and then straight on to something completely different. Whilst their newest single 'Hypercommunication' might fall in this first category, there's just something about it that makes it... well, not, to be completely frank.

Maybe it's the two remixes included, which, each in their own way, are both so outrageously good that it borders on the brink of insanity. Each of the remixes could easily warrant for a post here. Joakim supplies the aptly titled "Cartoon Muscles Edit" of the track, which adds such tenacity and torridity that it turns the already anthemic track into a full-blown firestarter.

Not ending there, German duo Alter Ego supplies an even hotter remix. Beforehand, a small indicator that this remix means business is that it's just over 10 minutes against the original track's length of just under 5 minutes, meaning it takes its damn good time to build up and unleash the best German-French joint effort since a certain someone remixed some other certain someones track into unmeasurable magnificence. Oh, and this.
